The Journal of Lie Theory publishes original research articles in the following areas of Mathematics: Lie groups and Lie algebras; algebraic groups and related types of topological groups; representation theory of Lie groups, Lie algebras, and p-adic groups; homogeneous spaces and varieties, applications to differential geometry; harmonic analysis on homogeneous and symmetric spaces; connections to noncommutative geometry, information geometry, theoretical physics, and quantum groups.
The journal primarily publishes research articles. Occasionally, survey articles on a topical area inside the scope of the journal will also be considered. Only unpublished material will be accepted after a thorough single-blind peer-reviewing procedure. The Journal of Lie Theory adheres to the EMS Code of Practice.
All papers published in the journal are available in the diamond open access model. There is no fee for the authors, and accepted papers are immediately published online first and later published in one of four annual issues.
The Journal of Lie Theory was founded in 1991 and is since 2026 owned and published by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne and produced by Centre Mersenne.
