Lie Algebras of Maximal Class with Polynomial Multiplication

We prove that over an algebraically closed field F of zero characteristic an N-graded Lie algebra of maximal class with polynomial multiplication is isomorphic to W+, the positive part of the Witt algebra, or to a certain subalgebra of W+.
