On Functions of Negative Type on the Olshanski Spherical Pair (SL(∞), SU(∞))

Using a generalized Bochner type representation for Olshanski spherical pairs, we prove the boundedness of every SU(∞)-biinvariant continuous function of negative type on the infinite dimensional special linear group SL(∞).
